The Cat Fancier’s Association has come up with a way to compete paw to paw with the canine world. Now, cats are competing in agility competitions much like those that dogs have participated in for many years. The first competition was held at the Oregon Cat Fancier’s show in February 2005 with an incredible turnout of 45 feline participants. Most cats run the course consisting of hoops, tunnels, jumps and stairs, by chasing a luring toy controlled by their human training partner but a growing number follow commands communicated to them via a clicker.
