This is our newly acquired pet groundhog, Chuck. (He doesn’t know he is our pet yet.) He just showed up one day a few weeks ago but it seems he has taken up permanent residence here. We suspect he is a refugee from a nearby forest that is being clear cut for high density homes. Our cats, Sweetie, Blue and Mist, find him fascinating, too.

Toby, apparently a quick study, pushed her to the floor and began jumping up and down on her chest and was able to dislodge the fruit before she passed out. Read the entire story here.
When kids in an economically depressed area just south of Atlanta heard that the stray dog that had been hanging around their school needed medical attention, they gave what little spare money they could to help it return to good health. Everyone at the school worked together to then find loving homes for her and her puppies. Read the entire heart-warming story here.
