Our healthy girl, Mist, sits on her favorite perch and watches the wildlife in the backyard. She and her sisters, Blue and Sweetie, have not been fed commercial cat food since the day they came to live with us almost two years ago. Sadly, many dear pets were recently lost or severely sickened by mass-produced food that was tainted with poison. The good that came of this tragic event was that it sent more pet owners in search of healthier food from safer sources for their animal friends. If you are looking for high quality, organic pet food to ensure your pet’s safety and health, the folks at Greenpeople have made it a bit easier. They have an extensive listing of sources for natural and organic pet food on their website. It’s a useful tool to help you find just the right food for your furry family member.

From Dogs in the News:

“Hercules”, an English Mastiff with a 36″ neck, is the current record holder at 284 lbs. His guardian John Flynn (who ain’t so shabby himself at 270 lbs) once saw a bird roosting on Hercules’ head. Hercules just sat there blinking, says Mr. Flynn. “He’s not the smartest dog in the world, that’s for sure.”

The couple was moving from New York City to Sedona, AZ and did not have the heart to put their beloved companions in the cargo hold of an airplane, fearing they would freeze to death. They befriended a taxi driver a few weeks prior to their move and the idea began as a joke. Read the entire story
